They will play a crucial role supporting the delivery of business objectives through the delivery of land rights for and the delivery of large-scale, 10-year investment plan more than £350m across the ScottishPower estate.
The increased volume of delivery has led to the need to enhance our understanding of data and systems supporting the strategic vision. The Data Product Owner, reporting to the Business and Analytics Manager, will be responsible for leading on development and management of a centralised and integrated data model for GSUK, critical to ensure the ongoing maintenance of data confidentiality, integrity and availability of data, insights and reporting. The role will ensure all data solutions align to IBE’s data architecture standards, working closely with IT and Architecture teams who provide the technical design and implementation. It will also oversee the management of data vulnerabilities, data compliance with all relevant internal policies and external regulatory requirements, and the timely resolution of the actions associated with security improvement plans.
What you’ll be doing- Define, govern, and oversee the ongoing maintenance and evolution of scalable, integrated data models to ensure they remain secure, accurate, and fit‐for‐purpose across the full lifecycle of GSUK systems, projects, and PMO capabilities.
- Collaborate with Performance & Reporting teams enabling use of structured, reliable, and analytics-ready data for dashboards and KPIs.
- Work collaboratively with all teams (Commercial, Ops, L&E, IT) and other stakeholders to map data needs and deliver fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Establish and maintain data governance processes to ensure data accuracy, consistency and security, and lead data quality initiatives and resolve data-related issues across teams and systems.
- Ensure GSUK’s data and governance requirements are reflected in end‐to‐end data solutions across Operational, Land Delivery and Commercial areas.
- Lead the business implementation and adoption of data governance tools, working with IT on the technical integration, to strengthen data quality in line with the global framework.
- Contribute to the development of PMO maturity and digital transformation by promoting data-driven best practices.
- Create and maintain data flow diagrams and data dictionaries to improve data accessibility and reliability.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of Programme activities by supporting Lessons Learned led by PMO Analyst and Programme Manager.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, or information systems.
- Well versed in at least one computer language e.g., SQL, SAS, R, Python.
- Expertise and practical experience of creating customer segmentation models.
- Expert understanding of data warehousing and MI environments to assure data integrity, standards and quality.
- Experience in business analytics tools and customer relationship management (CRM) platforms.
- Good experience of data analytics, data warehousing, customer insights, and business intelligence.
- Expert knowledge of Power BI (Cloud BI).
- Demonstrated business acumen and analytical skills for effective and efficient problem-solving.
- Proficiency in the development, documentation, and communication of analytical plans.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to operational excellence and quality.
- Leads technical data change. Embraces changes, keeps employees informed, and remains focused on business results.
- Familiarity with Azure and Synaps Analytics is highly desirable.
- A bachelor’s degree in computer science, data science, software engineering, or information systems.
- Proven experience monitoring, managing, and manipulating data.
- Strong experience applying data engineering standards, including best practices around data quality, governance, and scalability.
- Ability to translate complex data and engineering concepts into clear product decisions.
- Well versed in at least one computer language e.g., SQL, SAS, R, Python.
- Expert knowledge of data warehousing and MI environments and practices to build, develop and maintain data integrity.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
