The role of Enterprise Performance & Planning Manager is primarily responsible for setting the frameworks to deliver trusted, comprehensive and forward-looking insights that empower decision-makers in SPT and SPEN, transforming SPT performance management and business planning into strategic enablers.
The Enterprise Performance & Planning Manager will be working in conjunction with several multi-disciplined PMO teams and SPT departments to serve as the key figure for SPT consolidated performance management, business planning and risk management. The role will support the SPEN business interface with key stakeholders, including the SPT Executive Team, Network Policy & Regulation (NP&R), Control and Integrated Performance & Planning.
What you’ll be doing
As Enterprise Performance & Planning Manager, you will lead the strategic direction of performance reporting, business planning and risk management across SP Transmission. Working closely with stakeholders across the business and interfacing directorates, you will provide a single, trusted view of organisational performance, enabling informed decision-making at senior leadership, CEO and Iberdrola level.
You will be responsible for establishing and managing a consistent governance, reporting and project controls framework across SPT portfolios, ensuring accurate, timely and insightful reporting. The role will provide a clear view of future business performance across financial, programme and people dimensions, while driving a consistent approach to regulatory reporting, risk management and performance tracking.
Leading a high-performing team of Governance, Business Planning and Risk & Assurance specialists, you will drive continuous improvement of Enterprise Performance & Planning capabilities, standards and ways of working. You will champion the use of meaningful performance insights, proactively identify and escalate strategic risks, and work collaboratively with data teams to deliver scalable business intelligence that supports successful business outcomes.
What you’ll bring
- Experience in project/contract management within FIDIC or NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract (ECC) frameworks, ideally with a background in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) capital projects.
- Formal qualification in project management (e.g., APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent) or significant, demonstrable experience in project management disciplines. Experience in leading and managing PMO teams in complex organisations.
- Significant experience in planning at a strategic level, with the ability to “join the dots” across business functions and produce complete and comprehensive plans at a business-wide level for Executive Management.
- Significant experience in performance reporting, using data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and risks, which could impact performance against business objectives. Experience of applying project and contract management digital tools e.g. BIM, Power BI, CEMAR, P6 Primavera, ACC.
- Experience of data modelling to support effective and efficient reporting.
- Experience of designing and implementing risk management frameworks including risk governance, risk quantification, risk methodologies and risk reporting.
- Experience of developing and delivering assurance activity over key risk areas through internal audits, control maturity assessments etc.
- Experience in resource modelling and experience in delivering programmes to address resource needs.
- Strong relationship management skills across full business spectrum from dealing with MD / Executive Management and project teams.
- Strong influencing, negotiating, presentation and communication skills.
- Experience in reporting to Executive level.
- Ability to look forward and see / anticipate problems and thereafter plan and implement mitigating solutions to negate the effect of such problems.
- Ability to create and challenge modelling and forecasts, focusing on the assumptions that underpin these.
- High capacity for change and experience of leading others through change.
- A strong people leader with experience of leading teams to successful outcomes.
