A Technical Auditor ensures SPEN as a business remains compliant with NRSWA Legislation. Assist Commercial NRSWA Analyst, Contract Management Team and DGMs with managing Contractor performance.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Undertake internal inspection regime which consists of U/A, U/B and U/C inspections during works and throughout the guarantee period and submit using the SRWC Inspections App.
  • Management of all inspections, defects & non compliances received via the Scottish Road Works Register (SRWR).
  • Arrange joint site meetings with relevant Roads Authorities within legislative timeframe.
  • Assist the Commercial NRSWA Analyst with all Coring Programmes (National, Local and Internal).
  • Investigate all Defective Apparatus received to confirm whether it is SPEN apparatus or not and arrange for the SRWR to be updated.
  • Manage any 2/4-hour responses from Road Authorities for any Signing, Lighting & Guarding failures/queries or substandard traffic management and ensure Aurora is being updated with comments.
  • Investigate all unattributable works to determine whether they belong to SPEN, arrange for notice to be updated (accept/decline).
  • For any complaints/claims that are received, investigate, and arrange resolution where required.
  • Where required, attend any RAUC working groups to discuss and update legislation and feedback to the business and Local RAUC meetings.
  • Assist NRSWA Analyst to ensure that all interim reinstatements are made permanent and completed within the 6-month period (be able to demonstrate the steps you've taken if this target is not met).
  • Carry out SPEN Audits and inspections including (Underground and overhead connections).
  • Clerk of Works support for large connection and investment projects (Civil and Electrical based inspections and project timeline review).
  • Carry out on site compliance inspections of Contractors and Independent Connection Providers (ICP).

What you’ll bring:

  • Working knowledge of Energy Networks policies, procedures and working practices.
  • Working knowledge of Health and Safety and Roads Legislation.
  • Working Knowledge of NRSWA – Red Book.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Ability to devise solutions to problems/challenges.
  • Candidates are expected to possess a robust background in building services, coupled with a proven track record of on-site inspection and supervision.
  • Drivers License.

Minimum Criteria:

  • NRSWA street ticket.
  • NRSWA inspector ticket (Preferred).
  • Highways authority inspections.
