This exciting investment plan aims to connect up to 19GW of clean energy, support over 11,000 jobs, and accelerate the UK’s journey to Net Zero by 2035.

As part of this campaign, we are delighted to announce we have several new opportunities for Lead Engineers in various disciplines to join our business and be part of a growing team, bringing your expertise to help deliver real changes that positively impact communities and climate goals.

What you’ll be doing

We are seeking engineers with skillsets in:

  • Circuits
  • Substations/Main Plant
  • Protection and Control
  • Civils

Positions are within our SPT Strategic Project Team and Core Project Team:

Within Strategic Projects, you can expect to manage interfaces with EPC contractors and OEMs to ensure their designs are innovative and meet requirements for deliverables.

Within Core Projects, you can expect to assess, develop and provide complex detailed engineering design solutions, while balancing innovation and value driven engineering to reduce asset lifecycle cost.

What you’ll bring

As a minimum, you will have:

  • Degree in an Engineering discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer Status (or working towards).
  • Proven experience and knowledge in Circuits/Substations (Main Plant)/Protection & Control/ Civil & Structural engineering design works up to 400kV for electrical network transmission projects or similar.
  • Good people and communication skills and the ability to form effective working relationships with other individuals, departments and businesses.
  • Experience in dynamic engineering environment with multiple projects and ensuring delivery of outputs.
  • Ability to implement, apply and promote CDM and Health & Safety best practice in a design environment.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks in a fast-paced environment with a diverse and demanding workload.
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing new technologies and engineering solutions.
