Principal Project Manager Location: Can be based either in London or Glasgow Salary: From £83,200 with up to 30% Annual Bonus, Family Healthcare and Car Allowance Type: Permanent Working Arrangements: Flexible/Hybrid Closing Date: 20th December 2024 Purpose As Principal Project Manager, you will be fully accountable and responsible for execution work scopes completed under the Company’s Offshore site jurisdiction during Project construction. You will lead the shore-based site team and oversee the successful coordination and delivery of works for Offshore construction activities, managing all operations optimally across facilities to deliver the project programme on time and budget. This is a critical, highly specialised position requiring you to demonstrate the appropriate capability and clear competency to deliver both the project Offshore construction activity works and to coordinate with the Commissioning team to facilitate the safe and efficient commissioning of Wind Farm and Grid assets. You will also develop the overall strategy for managing the Offshore construction site, ensuring clear delivery of this strategy throughout the project lifecycle from concept, through site setup, to management of site works and finally to O&M handover. Responsibilities Reporting to the Construction Department Manager, you will have overall control of all construction activities taking place on an Iberdrola project site. From early stages of the project, you will be accountable and responsible for strategic planning, management and ultimately execution of Project Management, Information Management and Governance. During the execution phase, you will be responsible for all works being carried out on site, both operationally and for strategic planning and coordinating activities, including coordination between Offshore installation, commissioning, intermediate O&M works until handover, ensuring that the project programme is achieved safely with quality whilst production during commissioning is maximised. Setting and maintaining a safe system of work during offshore operations with attention to conducting regular inspections, audits, emergency response drills and disaster planning to ensure the site teams are fully prepared for unforeseen events, you will implement the Construction phase execution plan, ensuring construction arrangements and methodologies of all Contractors form a coherent and optimised installation approach meeting all project and legal requirements. What you’ll bring To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate as minimum: Educated to Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering as well as a solid technical understanding and relevant experience within the Offshore industry. Experience with an EPCI Contractor, Energy developer, Utility, Engineering consultancy or related Offshore Engineering role for Offshore construction projects, with significant exposure to Offshore Wind construction. Leadership and team management experience of large, complex infrastructure projects. Previous experience operating as a Deputy EPC Director or Package Manager, with hands-on experience across all phases of the construction of large CAPEX projects. Experienced in the management of Offshore construction sites and harbours. Previous knowledge/experience of Offshore Wind farm construction is essential, as is being fluent in English.
