Purpose
Implementing and managing critical Electrical Safety within Iberdrola's Projects and Operational sites, you will actively support, promote and coordinate Electrical safety using IBRO E&M safety rules across all offshore projects and operational sites on a global scale. As the global focal point of contact to consult over implementation and development opportunities relating to IBRO Electrical and Mechanical safety rules, you will report directly to the H&S Compliance Manager, taking accountability to support the assurance of Electrical Safety for the Offshore business. Leading a small team of direct and indirect Electrical Safety Specialists across different geographical regions, you will centrally support Projects and Operational teams in HV safety, resulting from the growing portfolio of projects. Supporting Lead Commissioning Managers, Operational Site Managers and H&S Compliance Manager, not just at project level but also at group and offshore business level, you will ensure knowledge, experience and requirements are standardised and consistent. Creating a centralised approach in managing Electrical and Mechanical safety across the IBRO Global Business, you will drive the direction of the safety rules, ensuring all stakeholders are part of a global centralised approach.
Responsibilities
- Assisting the H&S Compliance Manager with the deployment of IBRO Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules on a global scale, you will work closely with Site based HV specialists and H&S teams from other global regions to ensure correct Electrical safety processes are understood and followed correctly.
- Providing direct support to the Project Safety Rules committees on a global scale, you will deputise the H&S Compliance Manager within IBRO Offshore safety rules committee when required, carrying out safety rule authorisation processes for all operational staff (APs, SAPs and Control Persons) in line with the appropriate IBRO Process.
- Resolving any electrical safety or safety rules related issue, including involvement in RCA where safety rules breaches have been identified, you will focus on the preparation of new sites under construction to ensure Commissioning have suitable numbers of persons authorised under the safety rules, as well as supporting the transition to the O&M phase of the project.
- Offshore trainings will be provided as Offshore and site visits are foreseen in this position.
What you'll bring
- Directly supporting Operational teams in Construction and O&M, you will possess experience from a High Voltage operational area with a previous SAP, Control Engineer or Designated Engineer background being essential.
- With knowledge of technical specifications in the relevant geographical areas of operation (NGET, RTE, 50Hz), you will hold the ability to manage a small team of people in terms of safety guidance.
- Interfacing and influencing stakeholders from Senior Leaders to Technicians at site level in terms of safety guidance, you will bring autonomy and your ability to make and manage safety decisions.
- Displaying your knowledge of Offshore wind renewables site configurations and assets, you will hold proficient knowledge of HV/LV equipment related to HV substations and submarine to land Transmission cables.
- Able to understand and interpret Electrical Engineering drawings, you will have an in-depth understanding of Wind Turbine Generators, Offshore Substations, Onshore Substations, inter array packages and SCADA systems.
- Obtaining knowledge of HVDC systems, their construction, commissioning and operational protocols, you will display your experience within the field of power systems control and monitoring, including your full understanding of the philosophy of a safe system of work.
- Leading and coordinating meetings with multiple stakeholders whilst generating meeting minutes, developing actions and setting clear deadlines, you will be familiar in tracking and following up on items/actions generated in meetings, disseminating data and information.
- With knowledge of both Construction and O&M operations and practices, you will be fluent in English although German, Spanish or French is advantageous.
