The predicted salary is between 42000 - 60000 ÂŁ per year.
Site Based role â We have projects in the East Coast, Central Belt, Borders, Glasgow, Ayrshire & Dumfries and Galloway.
Salary up to ÂŁ60,500 with a strong benefits package, excellent overtime opportunities available and our excellent pension scheme, where weâll double match your contribution up to a company contribution of 10%.
Full Time / Perm role based on a basic 37hr week.

From largeâscale network developments to futureâfocused expansion, the work youâll be part of will play a critical role in enabling a cleaner, greener energy system.
Weâre now looking for a Site Manager, a pivotal role within the SPT business with responsibility for managing construction outputs during the delivery phase of SP Energy Networksâ Core Projects. As part of a multiâdisciplined delivery team â including Construction Managers, Project Managers, HSQE Consultants, Quantity Surveyors and Design Engineers â youâll support the planning and delivery of key construction projects.
Acting as the primary onâsite representative, youâll take confident ownership of site activity and provide technical support and advice, primarily on the electrical aspects of construction across transmission projects. Youâll lead the onâsite management and delivery of Core Projects within our Transmission business, contributing to the construction of new build, replacement, refurbishment and other major transmission programmes.
What youâll be doing
- With your experience in managing transmission construction projects, including Contractor Site management you will be confident at monitoring and managing contractorâs works, tracking progress, keeping accurate site records ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety and Environmental.
- Constructability and working methods are interpreted and aligned with Engineering Design scope, drawings, and standards, providing technical expertise and management of work packages.
- Drive the commercial management and administration of each work package including measuring & monitoring of time and cost against agreed delivery.
- You will have technical knowledge and experience in quality control and inspection and testing of structure and main plant installation e.g Grid TXâs, Auxiliary Earthing Transformers, CBâs, PI, CVT, CTâs, SA, ES, Pantographs & Disconnectorâs.
- Experience in cable installation, glanding and terminating, protection & control systems, telecoms, earthing, mechanical and electrical interlocking/testing.

- Experience in managing transmission construction projects
- Experience as a Site Manager preferably with experience of carrying out duties associated with the Principal Contractor role, managing multiple contractors
- Ability to understand electrical design drawings, circuit diagrams, wiring diagrams and all inspection and testing
- Primary knowledge of specifications, designs, maintenance, construction and commissioning of electrical works within a substation environment
- Awareness of NEC conditions of contract
- Proficient with IT and software packages such as Microsoft office
- Prior experience of working in a live Substation environment working under electrical safety rules.
- Holds SMSTS, or equivalent safety training.
- Full First Aid certification
- Clean Driving Licence

Minimum Requirements
- Preferred relevant HND or equivalent experience in the Construction Management field associated with the role for the Power Sector.
- Excellent IT skills.
- Full UK driving licence
- Current five-day SMSTS qualification
Overtime payments:
- Monday - Saturday 8pm till midnight - Time and a half
- Monday - Saturday midnight to 8am - Double Time
- Sunday - Double Time
- Overtime is not mandatory.
