This position within the IBA Consulting team is responsible for delivering on a wide range of clients and IBA product development needs. In consulting, we bring together world-leading aviation market expertise, IBA Insights data, technical, asset management and appraisals to deliver strategic insights. Typical projects include strategic analysis, market reports, investment cases, airline and lessor diligence, financial analysis, litigation and risk management. Sustainable aviation is a key topic for our clients within this scope. IBA’s core client base is airlines, lessors, aerospace manufacturers, MROs and the aviation finance community. IBA is currently looking for motivated individuals to join the Consulting team. In this role, the successful applicant will be working on a range of projects across a varied client base. Examples of the type of projects you could be involved in would include: Independent market forecasts, market reports, and strategic investment recommendations. Operator and lessor diligence (technical, operational and financial) Translating sustainability policies and market outlooks into strategies for aviation and other markets/businesses e.g. energy sector. IBA Insights product development, including data updates, improvements and new modules. Aircraft and operator cost modelling. Airline financial analysis and investor operator risk assessments. Litigation support. Duties and Responsibilities: Strong communication skills and awareness. Liaising with IBA colleagues across the board including Directors, Heads of Department, Team Leaders, managers, and analysts. Conduct market research and perform both quantitative and qualitative analysis, gathering intelligence through multiple sources including our own extensive aviation data sets. Engaging with aviation clients, demonstrating excellent knowledge assimilation. Writing high-quality technical and market-related reports for publication. Presenting project material to colleagues and clients. Develop and maintain IBA products, including the IBA Market Outlook, IBA Insights and IBA Airlines. Participate in the development of new products and reports. The Person: Minimum 2:1 degree in finance, engineering, operational research, data analysis, maths, aerospace or another numerical / research degree. >3 years of professional experience in consulting, or other dynamic and analytical industry roles. Strong analytical and problem-structuring ability. Able to work precisely and productively, within a team, and to deadlines. Strong verbal and written communicator, team player and relationship builder. Strong, demonstrable interest in, and passion for, the aviation industry. Motivated to learn and self-develop, contribute to a team effort and strive for high performance. Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office products, particularly Microsoft Excel. Desirable knowledge: Understanding of aviation business, aviation finance, aircraft technology, airline economics, sustainable aviation issues, and strategic consulting frameworks.
