We are looking for a driven and analytically minded individual with a strong interest in aviation to join IBA’s growing Consulting team.
Working within the Valuations and Consulting department and reporting to a Consulting Manager, the Analyst will support a wide range of projects, including strategic and market analysis, investment cases, airline and lessor due diligence, financial analysis, litigation support, risk management and sustainable aviation.
The role will also contribute to product development, business development and marketing activity, while helping to maintain and enhance key datasets and analytical models covering areas such as airline financial performance, aircraft delivery forecasts and aircraft emissions across IBA’s suite of subscription intelligence products.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse airline financial statements, operational metrics, and jurisdictional factors, inputting into models to assess risk and provide insights to clients, doing so in an accurate and timely manner.
- Collaborate with the team and other departments to identify and prioritise updates and enhancements to the IBA Insight Fleet, Airlines and Net Zero platforms.
- Monitor industry news and developments to inform forecasts and write thought leadership pieces
- Contribute to technical projects that include Market Reports, Due Diligence, Revenue and Cost Modelling, Company and Intangibles Valuation, Litigation support and Technology and Environmental impact studies.
- Support client enquiries related to airline data and industry questions and provide explanations or additional information as needed.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 2:1 degree in finance, engineering, economics, maths, or another analytical degree.
- 18 months + of experience post-graduation in a consulting, analytical or grad scheme role.
- Strong verbal and written communicator, team player and relationship builder.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Motivated to learn and self-develop, contribute to a team effort and strive for high performance.
- Understanding of (at least two of) finance fundamentals, airline economics, sustainability, and/or strategy.
- Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office products, particularly Power Point, Word, Excel, and using AI as a productivity tool.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Demonstrated interest in the aviation industry and its technolobus devgical landscape.
Advantageous Experience
- Financial qualifications such as ACA or progress towards CFA
- Experience in aviation consulting or a related field.
- Experience in airline strategy
- Experience in aviation sustainability, including emissions analysis, decarbonisation strategies or sustainable aviation fuels.
- Familiarity with the IBA Insight Airlines platform or similar aviation data tools.
