General Aviation and Aftermarket Valuations is a specialised business unit within IBA, structured into three dedicated teams. Together, they provide expert consultancy and independent valuation services across a wide range of civil aviation and rotorcraft assets. These include aircraft engines, helicopters, business jets, light aircraft, aircraft components, and flight simulators.

As an Aviation Analyst, you will work closely with Senior Analysts, Department Managers, and Business Unit Heads, contributing to a variety of high-impact projects such as:

  • Performing detailed asset valuations
  • Conducting competitive market intelligence and benchmarking
  • Analysing historical asset values and market trends
  • Assessing risk and supporting forecasting efforts
  • Maintaining and updating internal data systems for accuracy and consistency

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the aviation industry while developing analytical expertise in asset management and market research.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Production of asset-specific reports.
  • Interrogate IBA’s databases for fleet, values and trend analysis.
  • Conduct market research and perform both quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Participate as a member of a team on client projects.
  • Interface with clients to present results of studies and analyses.
  • Expand IBA’s familiarity with aviation industry data sources and issues.
  • Support targeted business development efforts with new and existing clients.

The Person

  • Minimum 2:1 degree featuring one or more of finance, engineering, operational research, data analysis, and maths as modules. An aerospace, aviation, or air transport-related degree is desired.
  • A demonstrated passion for aviation or aspects of it.
  • Persistent in pursuing the best possible result, often through analysis, data visualisation, and report writing.
  • Flexibility managing multiple priorities, working with changing deadlines and attention to detail.
  • Awareness and understanding of the macroeconomic environment.
  • Understanding of topics concerning aircraft maintenance could be advantageous.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to manipulate large datasets.
  • Strong verbal and written communicator, team player and relationship builder.
  • Exceptional organisational skills.
  • Able to work precisely and productively under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office User with proven experience in:
