The role has three key priorities. Firstly, be the technical expert on all things grid related for the UK team, from origination, all the way to project energisation. Secondly, lead the grid delivery process for the UK team, including the work carried out with grid connection companies such as ICPs and IDNOs. Thirdly, manage the grid development team, providing guidance and upskilling team members where required.
The role will require “out of the box” thinking, stakeholder engagement, and staying up to date with industry and grid developments.
Your Job
- Aid the Director of Development in formulating and executing the grid development and origination strategy.
- Lead the grid delivery process for the UK team, including the work carried out with grid connection companies such as ICPs and IDNOs.
- Lead the grid development team.
- Act as the grid connections technical expert throughout the development process for projects.
- Provide expert guidance to the grid origination team.
- Optimize grid connection costs throughout the development process.
- Provide expert guidance during the connection process to the grid team.
Your Profile
- 7+ years’ of experience in a grid-related role.
- Knowledge of the UK development process, key milestones, and risks.
- Experience of UK regulations and government policy (primarily grid-related regulations).
- Experience with both distribution and transmission connected projects will be considered a plus.
- Proactive, working on one’s own initiative.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills.
