We have our own software suites that are leaders in their niches and gathering traction in broader markets, so we need motivated, technology-oriented people to help us grow. Technologies we use: The technologies we use throughout our business and products are broad but we primarily work with: Java Angular MySQL / MariaDB Spring AWS Maven Git Ansible HTML / CSS NodeJS Docker / Podman Jenkins Packer Terraform ElasticSearch Grafana Kibana Telegraf Ubuntu Nexus Windows Server Hyper-V Vagrant Eclipse RCP Python Matomo Sonarqube Google Suite As a DevOps Engineer you\’ll work on: Client project and internal needs Continuous improvement of DevOps practices Acting as an infrastructure and cloud expert on projects Automating business processes Improving the overall efficiency of our services and offerings Promoting DevOps ways of working across the company You will be most suited to these roles if you know: AWS or Azure (both ideally but the concepts translate) Managing and deploying scalable service-based application stacks Linux (especially CentOS/Alma/Rocky/RHEL and Ubuntu) Installing and maintaining databases (MySQL/MariaDB especially but also Postgres, Sybase, MS SQL, and Oracle are all valuable on different clients) Infrastructure organisation and management experience, particularly virtualization and containerisation (Podman, Docker, Kubernetes, Hyper-V, OpenStack, K8s, etc.) Configuration and release management (DevOps tools particularly Jenkins, Nexus, Ansible, Packer, Terraform, Vagrant and equivalents) Operational management tools for the modern web (ElasticSearch, Kibana, Grafana, Matomo, Telegraf, etc.) Source control systems (particularly Git and the Git Flow-style approaches) Debugging production issues in live environments We need someone who: Is a DevOps expert or on their way to being one Is happy working on a diverse set of projects and being involved right through the project lifecycle from bid to BAU Knows how to get things done and deliver to clients (internal and external) Enjoys technology and keeps an open mind to solutions but is not always chasing the latest new thing unless it brings value Likes a laidback day-to-day environment whilst still delivering to aggressive targets when it counts Wants the flexibility to be able to work remotely or odd hours when not needed in the office Wants ownership in what they create, technically, strategically and financially Can alternately wear a purist and pragmatist hat as the situation dictates The way we work: While we were originally remote-friendly, since COVID we are now remote-first and do not currently offer a permanent physical space. Our team works well in cyberspace but due to our client work we\’re only looking for UK-based staff currently. You\’ll get to work with a close-knit team of amazing people who are passionate about technology. You\’ll learn lots, and you\’ll have a good laugh in the process. If you enjoy installing Linux distros, complaining about Azure API shortcomings, arguing about why colleagues should or should not buy an RTX 3090, can tolerate egg-based memes, enjoy watching or participating in eating challenges, and generally want to automate the heck out of everything then we\’re probably for you. So tell us about it! Due to our work with government clients, candidates must be able to pass UK Security Clearance for the roles available at the current time.
