We are seeking an experienced Commercial / Contracts Manager to lead the commercial and contractual management of major grid infrastructure projects across the UK. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring robust commercial governance, contractual compliance, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle — from pre-contract through delivery to final account. You will bring strong Quantity Surveying expertise combined with practical experience on grid connection, substations, overhead lines, and cabling projects under NEC or FIDIC forms of contract.

Commercial Management

  • Oversee all commercial activities across assigned grid projects, ensuring alignment with company and client objectives.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, cash flow, and cost control measures.
  • Prepare, review, and negotiate variations, claims, and change management processes.
  • Conduct regular project commercial reviews, identifying risks, opportunities, and mitigation strategies.
  • Support procurement strategy and subcontractor management, including tendering, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring.

Contract Administration

  • Administer NEC3/NEC4 or FIDIC contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and early warning mechanisms.
  • Prepare and manage all commercial correspondence, notices, and contractual documentation.
  • Provide contractual advice and support to project teams and senior management.
  • Liaise with clients, consultants, and legal teams on commercial and contractual matters.

Project Support

  • Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Planners to ensure accurate cost and progress reporting.
  • Maintain robust records for project audits and potential dispute resolution.
  • Contribute to monthly progress and commercial reporting to stakeholders.
