We are currently looking for a Manual Machinist to join a world leading manufacturer and supplier within their top class facility located just outside of Burton on Trent. This is a full time long-term position.
Manual Machinist key job details:
- Monday to Thursday, 07:00 to 16:00, Fridays 07:00 to 13:00.
- 39hrs per week
- £16-£18ph (DOE), weekly pay
- Overtime available
- Company is flexible with work times, and can also offer either 06:00 to 15:00
Manual Machinist duties:
- Operate manual machine tools including lathes, vertical and horizontal borers to machine and refurbish industrial components
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances to manufacture or repair parts to required standards.
- Carry out precision machining activities including turning, boring, drilling, facing and threading on large and small components
- Inspect completed work using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and gauges to ensure quality and accuracy
- Work safely within a workshop environment while maintaining equipment, and adherence to health & safety procedures
Manual Machinist person specification:
- Machining experience with either Centre Lathe (Colchester, TRENS, Harrison), Capstan Lathe (Herbert), or Vertical (Webster Bennett) / Horizontal (Union BFT) Borer is essential.
- Must be able to read engineering drawings
- Must have your own transport due to location of the work
- You will need to have a good level of English (verbal and reading)
