We are currently looking for a Manual Machinist to join a world leading manufacturer and supplier within their top class facility located just outside of Burton on Trent. This is a full time long-term position.

Manual Machinist key job details:

  • Monday to Thursday, 07:00 to 16:00, Fridays 07:00 to 13:00.
  • 39hrs per week
  • £18ph, weekly pay
  • Overtime available
  • Company is flexible with work times, and can also offer either 06:00 to 15:00

Manual Machinist duties:

  • Operate manual machine tools including lathes, vertical and horizontal borers to machine and refurbish industrial components.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and tolerances to manufacture or repair parts to required standards.
  • Carry out precision machining activities including turning, boring, drilling, facing and threading on large and small components.
  • Inspect completed work using measuring equipment such as micrometers, verniers and gauges to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Work safely within a workshop environment while maintaining equipment, and adherence to health & safety procedures.

Manual Machinist person specification:

  • Machining experience with either Centre Lathe, Capstan Lathe, or Vertical / Horizontal Borer is essential.
  • Must be able to read engineering drawings.
  • Must have your own transport due to location of the work.
  • You will need to have a good level of English (verbal and reading).
