Ian Farmer Associates (part of RSK Group) is growing, and we’re looking for a commercially minded professional to help us deliver high‑quality geotechnical and environmental engineering projects across the UK. We are looking for someone based in the North West who is comfortable with a hybrid working set up linked to our Warrington office.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Commercial Support: Work closely with project teams, maintaining accurate commercial records and ensuring contractual compliance.
  • Cost Management: Support cost control across materials and construction activities, including measuring, quantifying, and forecasting project costs.
  • Stakeholder Liaison: Act as a key point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and external partners. Lead commercial discussions, manage variations and claims, and coordinate financial submissions.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Produce clear monthly financial reports, including cashflow forecasts and earned value analysis.
  • Risk & Opportunity Management: Maintain project risk registers and help shape mitigation strategies.
  • Team Support & Development: Contribute to a positive, collaborative working environment, drawing on support from the wider RSK commercial team for your own development.
  • Compliance: Follow company policies and procedures, including Health & Safety, Equality & Diversity, and Anti‑Fraud requirements.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in earthworks, drainage, or water projects (desirable)
  • A background across both commercial and private development sectors
  • A valid CSCS card
  • A full, clean UK driving licence
  • The ability to meet deadlines and adapt to changing project needs
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to build effective relationships
  • A natural problem‑solving mindset and an eye for detail
