Purpose of the role
The People Advisor will partner with leaders and HR colleagues to deliver people initiatives that support business performance, culture and transformation priorities. The role combines core HR business partnering with a strong focus on culture, employee engagement, internal communications and people analytics, supporting data-led decision-making during periods of change. This role is well suited to an HR professional transitioning from an HR Advisor role into business partnering, with an interest in transformation, engagement and insight-driven HR.
Responsibilities
- HR Business Partnering
- Partner with managers to provide practical, commercial people advice aligned to business and transformation priorities
- Support workforce planning, role clarity, organisation design and capability development activity
- Advise on employee relations matters, escalating complex cases as appropriate
- Support performance management, talent and succession processes
- Contribute to People & Culture planning aligned to business objectives
- Culture, Engagement & Employee Experience
- Support the design and delivery of culture and engagement initiatives aligned to organisational values and transformation goals
- Coordinate employee engagement surveys, pulse checks and listening activities
- Analyse engagement results and support leaders in translating insights into clear action plans
- Support initiatives that strengthen inclusion, wellbeing and employee experience
- Act as a culture advocate, helping embed desired behaviours and ways of working
- People Analytics & Insights
- Use people data (e.g. engagement, attrition, absence, DEI, capability metrics) to identify trends, risks and opportunities
- Produce clear, simple insights and dashboards to support leaders and HR decision-making
- Support the development of people metrics and KPIs linked to culture, engagement and transformation outcomes
- Partner with HR colleagues to improve data quality, reporting and insight capability
- Use analytics to evaluate the impact of people and engagement initiatives
- Internal Communications & Change
- Develop and coordinate people-related communications in partnership with HR and Communications teams
- Draft clear, engaging content for leadership updates, engagement campaigns and change communications
- Support leaders with communication and engagement plans during periods of organisational change
- Ensure messages are consistent, timely and aligned to the overall transformation narrative
- Transformation & Change Support
- Support HR delivery across transformation programmes, restructures and changes in ways of working
- Help develop change, engagement and communication plans to support employee understanding and adoption
- Act as a connector between leaders, employees and HR during periods of change
- Capture feedback and insights to continuously improve change effectiveness
Your skills, experience and qualifications
- Experience in an HR role (HR Advisor, People Partner or Junior HRBP)
- Solid understanding of core HR processes and employee lifecycle
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working with data, metrics and engagement insights
- Ability to build trusted relationships with managers and stakeholders
- Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities
- Experience supporting transformation, change or large-scale initiatives
- Exposure to people analytics, dashboards or HR systems
- Experience supporting engagement or culture programmes
- CIPD Level 5 (or working towards)
