Purpose of the role
- Lead the end-to-end strategic sourcing process for ground handling services.
- Execute category strategies that align with business objectives and drive cost savings, supplier performance, and innovation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across IAG Group companies to define specifications and sourcing approaches.
- Negotiate commercial terms and draft contracts in coordination with legal teams, ensuring compliance and risk mitigation.
- Support global procurement coverage across the ground handling services category, focusing on cash improvement, supply base rationalization, and e-sourcing adoption.
- Ensure all sourcing activities are aligned with IAG Transform’s governance standards and sustainability goals.
Your responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end sourcing processes for ground handling services, including RFP development, supplier selection, negotiation, and contracting.
- Implement category strategies aligned with business goals, focusing on cost optimization, supplier consolidation, and innovation.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across OpCos to define specifications, align sourcing strategies, and ensure business needs are met.
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing market insights and procurement expertise.
- Draft and negotiate contracts using IAG Transform templates and coordinate with legal teams to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
Your skills, experience and qualifications
- Minimum 3–4 years’ experience in strategic (category) procurement, ideally within the aviation industry.
- Proven ability to lead negotiations and manage complex sourcing projects in a matrixed organization.
- Strong contract drafting and commercial acumen, with knowledge of key clauses and risk mitigation strategies.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills; experience with e-sourcing tools and CLM platforms (e.g., Icertis).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and align cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus.
- Willingness to travel and work in a multi-site/location environment.
