At IAG Loyalty, our Airline Partnerships team is a critical element to the loyalty flywheel. The team build, manage, and grow airline partnerships across the IAG group and beyond—making loyalty commercially compelling for our airline partners while delivering extraordinary value for millions of members worldwide.
As Senior Manager Airline Partnership Agreements you will be in a high impact role, offering the chance to shape and lead our approach to airline partnership management at a strategic level. You will be accountable for managing and delivering our Airline FFP partnership strategy within IAG Loyalty, and contributing to IAG-wide partnership objectives. You will work across a complex ecosystem of airline partners to deliver strong, sustainable commercial outcomes for the group.
As the subject matter expert for all airline agreements, you will act as the custodian of our underlying arrangements with the IAG airlines. You’ll lead the team responsible for ensuring these agreements are effectively managed and continue to deliver long term value for both sides.
This role offers a unique opportunity to use proven airline commercial experience to influence strategy, strengthen partnerships, and make a meaningful impact across IAG Loyalty. This role is based out of our London office. We call our approach to hybrid working The Blend — it’s about giving you the flexibility to choose where you do your best work, while staying connected with your team and the wider business. This means you will be required to spend at least two days per week in the office, with the rest of the time working from home. You may also be required to work from one of our other office or partner locations, based on your role and 'to do' list.
What you’ll get up to:
- Managing and delivering our Airline FFP partnership strategy, ensuring it delivers optimal outcomes for our customers, IAG Loyalty and IAG, and is fully aligned to wider group strategy.
- Defining the right partnership models and commercial frameworks, validating the most relevant model for the partnership to be structured under and designing the commercial terms.
- Driving delivery through cross-functional leadership, working closely with oneworld and our partners, to deliver broader loyalty initiatives and customer propositions, ensuring our partnerships continue to evolve in line with member needs and business priorities.
- Navigating complexity with confidence, balancing competing priorities and perspectives, securing senior stakeholder buy in while maintaining strong, trusted relationships with our airline partners.
- Contributing as a Senior Manager to our culture, playing an active part in making IAG Loyalty a great place to work.
What we need from you:
- Commercial & Strategic Leadership: Demonstrate substantial partner management experience in a commercial environment within loyalty, travel or the aviation industry. Track record of managing complex commercial partnerships. Proven delivery in developing relationships and designing effective agreements. Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and leverage a company's known financial, commercial and strategic drivers. A strategic thinker who makes sound business decisions based on adding value to the company in the long term.
- Senior Leadership & People Development: Substantial experience of working at senior level, delivering strategy, driving growth and leading teams. Possess credibility to lead and influence at a senior level. Strong consistent leader able to inspire and motivate teams to drive the business forward to meet targets and budgets and individual and company goals. Demonstrates strong commitment to and is passionate about managing and developing the potential of others.
- Innovation & Creative Thinking: A passion for finding new and creative ways for the company to improve its performance, balanced with a desire to prove the value of ideas before they are implemented. The ability to think outside of the box and challenge traditional business opportunities.
- Stakeholder Management & Influence: A demonstrated ability to quickly create impactful and influential relationships to inspire and engage customers, partners and all levels within IAG Loyalty. Effectively influence outcomes and drive alignment in discussions when faced with robust challenges. Able to navigate complex stakeholder interactions at senior levels internally and with our airline partners, to drive the best outcomes for the group. Strong project and programme management skills.
- Communication Delivery: Excellent communication with the ability to communicate with people at all levels and represent IAGL at external Partner meetings and forums. Ability to interpret complex financial issues and information and translate into simple messages. Degree in business, finance or related field is preferable.
