The opportunity

IAG Loyalty manages the Avios currency which millions of customers collect and spend every year, through our range of loyalty programmes. We offer customers many different ways to collect and spend Avios, from using our branded credit cards, shopping, or heading off on holiday, with over 125 different partners. In addition to working with world class partners, we also create proprietary Avios collection and spend products and services fully managed on our platforms.

The role sits within the Site Merchandising team. You are responsible for the optimisation of the variable retail websites operated by IAGL Retail, IAGL and its partners. You will determine what products and selling content is displayed where, when, and how, to maximise commercial performance of our unique retail digital selling channels.

You will be a key point of collaboration between the Targeted/Trade Marketing Teams and the Merchandising function to co-create strategies and execute trading plans that deliver against the business plan, supported by Content and Product Owners. Together you will manage the content plan, campaign calendar and merchant offers to deliver impactful promotions executed onsite with supporting placement, product and pricing, ultimately to ensure the website has the right planned focus on visibility, search, and promotion.

The eCommerce Manager, accountable for the digital performance owing to merchandising activites, will be an experienced professional with retailing background and a solid understanding of cloud based ecommerce platforms, digital merchandising tools and best practices in producing best-in-class content.

What you’ll get up to

  • Directing the Content production plan, ensuring it is delivered in site with cohesion across all points of customers digital experience.

  • Delivering exceptional digital CX. Track and maintain online content through both proprietary and external SaaS including but not limited to Catalyst, Shogun, Big Commerce and Klevu.

  • You will work with the Strategy & Planning Manager, Product Owners, Engagement Product Managers and Merchandising to set and run a merchandising strategy and framework for defined retail products within avios.com

  • Create new ways to improve brand appearance in the site to inspire customers through on-site images, mobile optimised content, reviews and other basic elements of ecommerce. Identifying opportunities to drive KPIs (traffic, conversion and AOV) through digital development and content.

  • Maintain total visibility of the yield value of site placements and trade them accordingly to targeted retailers via Collinson and/or B2B partners via the IAGL Marketing team

  • Create methodology in collaboration with Insight Analyst to demonstrably show the value of featured placements during trading activity and utilise it to influence improved investment activity from target retailers

  • Co-ordinate the distribution of seasonal trading activity across the Avios site: Ensure we successfully navigate key seasonal periods, such as Easter, Summer, and Christmas, to meet customer demand and business goals.

  • Develop offer scope (in tandem with Merchandiser) and editorial content briefs to drive trading activity and support SEO effort

  • Execute digital experience projects such customer journey mapping and connecting the dots from social media platforms to the site to drive sales.

  • Using data to develop insights into online customer behaviour and using this data to identify UX improvement opportunities. Improve conversion, trade and shopping experiences to accelerate growth.

  • Contribute to the delivery of new and innovative online experiences working closely with Tech team to align to roadmap as well as the Marketing and Merchandising teams to align on campaign planning and execution and always on activities to ensure cohesion and maximum success.

  • An experienced trading manager, with a strong track record of driving digital commercial performance against growth targets

  • Target driven with a strong commercial acumen, understanding what levers to pull and when to drive performance

  • Experience working with and influencing agile product teams

  • Data and finance literate, with an ability to model the forecast impact of offers and earn rate changes
