We’re the people behind the global loyalty currency, Avios, and home to three ambitious, growing businesses; IAG Loyalty, British Airways Holidays and The Wine Flyer. Each business has its own goals and strategy, but collectively we create brilliant experiences for our global customers.
We’re on a truly exciting journey of growth and transformation – we’re going places! This is where you come in.
You’ll be joining our Data Products team, working closely with teams aligned to value streams across the business. The team exists to drive success across the Commercial, Customer, Finance and Product domains, with a clear mission to make data accessible and usable in one place. By delivering powerful data solutions, we help optimise performance and enable better, faster decision-making.
As a Data Analyst, you’ll collaborate with commercial, marketing and retail colleagues to deliver insightful analytics and impactful data products that support and grow our partnerships. This could include supporting new business development with data for the launch of a new partnership, working with partner managers to assess the impact of proposition changes with partners such as American Express, or identifying opportunities to increase conversion of our purchase Avios product on avios.com.
You’ll work with a wealth of data and help shape the future of how we use it, partnering with Data Product Owners and Tech Leads to ensure we meet or lead industry standards. As an individual contributor, you’ll play an active role within your team and the wider Analytics community, creating actionable insight and sharing it through clear storytelling and effective visualisation to drive the right decisions and support growth across our commercial partnerships and retail portfolio.
What You’ll Be Doing
- You’ll be performing analysis on commercial and customer data using coding and a range of data analysis techniques to identify opportunities to strengthen our partnerships.
- You’ll develop reporting, data and analytical products, take on a variety of work to support stakeholder needs, and translate business requirements into high-quality data solutions through strong collaboration with colleagues within the team and across multiple domains.
- You’ll communicate actionable insights clearly and simply to the wider commercial and marketing teams, and actively share learnings and best practice across the Data department.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience taking a problem from ideation through to solution that supports business outcomes.
- Hands on with writing SQL queries for data analysis and reporting.
- Experience of analysing large datasets.
- Experience in telling stories with data, with the ability to create visualisation to bring it to life – we use Astrato, but experience with any data visualisation tool is great!
- An analytical mind, who is keen to solve problems and who focuses on progress to get things into our colleagues’ hands sooner.
- Worked with agility in mind, in an environment where you break work down and focus on delivering iteratively.
- Nice to have: python or google analytics experience.
We Might Not Be Right For You If
- You only want to focus on your to-do list; we’re a small, high-performing team, we help each other to succeed.
- You value perfection over fast iteration and progress; IAG Loyalty moves fast, we learn and iterate as we go; our environment isn’t right for everyone.
- You’re looking to create but not build; this is an end-to-end role, you need to be comfortable owning your space, from ideation through to delivery and review.
If you think you have what it takes but don’t meet every single point above, please do still apply. We’d love to chat and see if you could be a great fit.
