The IMS Heavy Maintenance Planner plays a pivotal role in coordinating the planning and scheduling of heavy maintenance events across the organisation. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical and planning skills, capable of working at a group level to ensure efficient utilisation of maintenance resources and adherence to regulatory requirements. The Analyst will be responsible for coordinating and refining group maintenance plans, conducting capacity and demand analysis, and providing recommendations to improve overall maintenance efficiency and effectiveness across the group, ultimately to reduce avoidable costs.
Responsibilities:
- Group Maintenance Plan Oversight: Maintain and monitor group heavy maintenance plans, ensuring alignment with organisational goals. Encourage and coordinate standardised planning processes and procedures across all maintenance sites. Collaborate with OpCos to ensure consistency and accuracy of maintenance data across the group. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) applicable to group maintenance planning and execution.
- Group Scheduling Optimisation: Identify and propose resolutions to scheduling conflicts and bottlenecks across multiple maintenance locations. Collaborate with OpCo maintenance teams to ensure efficient execution of planned maintenance activities. Develop and implement strategies to improve schedule adherence and reduce schedule variability.
- Maintenance Capacity and Demand Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of maintenance capacity and demand, identifying potential imbalances and risks to the Group and individual OpCos. Develop and maintain forecasting models to predict future maintenance demand and resource requirements across the Group. Provide recommendations for capacity adjustments and resource allocation to meet anticipated demand.
- Recommendation and Reporting: Prepare and present detailed reports on maintenance planning performance, capacity analysis, and scheduling optimisation. Communicate with all levels of the organisation, and provide updates to stakeholders.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging technologies related to maintenance planning and scheduling. Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in maintenance planning processes and systems. Participate in cross-functional teams and projects to improve overall maintenance efficiency and effectiveness.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in heavy maintenance planning and scheduling, preferably in a multi-site or group environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex data and develop actionable recommendations.
