The IMS Heavy Maintenance Analyst is crucial in coordinating heavy maintenance activities across our airline group. This role provides technical expertise and support to the IMS Heavy Maintenance Manager, driving efficiency, cost savings, and strategic improvements within heavy maintenance. The successful candidate will contribute to maintenance strategy development, demand/capacity planning, and provide subject matter expertise to coordinate consistent and effective maintenance practices across all group airlines to drive value for everyone.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Expertise & Support: Provide expert technical guidance and support for heavy maintenance coordination across the group's fleet. Act as a subject matter expert on aircraft heavy maintenance procedures, processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintenance Strategy & Planning: Contribute to the development and implementation of a group-wide heavy maintenance strategy. Support the Group Maintenance Planning Manager in coordinating heavy maintenance plans across the Group. Assist the Group in the development of long-term maintenance forecasts and budgets. Evaluate and recommend improvements to maintenance schedules.
- Demand/Capacity Planning: Support the development of accurate demand and capacity plans for heavy maintenance activities across the Group. Analyse aircraft utilisation and maintenance schedules to forecast future maintenance requirements. Collaborate with maintenance providers and internal stakeholders to ensure adequate capacity is available. Monitor and track maintenance capacity utilisation and identify potential bottlenecks.
- Efficiency & Cost Savings: Identify and support OpCos to implement initiatives to improve heavy maintenance efficiency and reduce costs. Evaluate and recommend cost-effective maintenance solutions and strategies. In conjunction with GBS Procurement, analyse maintenance contracts and agreements to identify opportunities for cost savings. Coordinate and track maintenance costs and identify areas for improvement.
- Group Collaboration & Communication: Prepare and present technical reports and presentations to management. Support and facilitate knowledge sharing between the different airlines within the group.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay up to date on changes to regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Aeronautical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Extensive experience in aircraft heavy maintenance, preferably within an airline or MRO environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of aircraft systems and maintenance procedures.
- Proven experience in maintenance planning, demand/capacity planning, and cost optimisation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Knowledge of aviation regulations and standards (EASA, FAA, etc.).
- Experience with maintenance planning software and systems.
- Experience working with multiple airline operators within a group environment is highly desirable.
