About the role:

Reporting into the FP&A senior finance manager and working closely with the Finance transformation manager, this role will be instrumental in automating and enhancing our financial planning, analysis, and reporting processes using Anaplan, with the primary objective of accelerating reporting and decision-making processes for the Managing Director, CFO, and Finance Leadership Team. Moreover, the role will be actively involved in supporting initiatives across the Group for financial systems development and replacement that will have a direct impact on IAG Cargo.

This role will focus on:

  • Building reports and models in Anaplan as the FP&A team automate its reporting, analyse and modelling activities, which will speed up decision making.
  • Supporting the development of dashboard in a visualisation tool.
  • Supporting the budgeting and forecasting processes using Anaplan and other tools, collaborating with various stakeholders across the organisation.
  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis, leveraging Anaplan and the financial database to provide insights into business performance and trends.

What you'll do:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Anaplan models to support various business functions including financial planning, forecasting, and performance management.
  • Design, develop and build insightful and actionable financial reports and dashboards to visualise key performance metrics and trends providing key stakeholders with accurate and timely financial information.
  • Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement solutions to ensure the reliability and accuracy of Anaplan models and Tableau reports.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and translate business needs into effective Anaplan models and Tableau visualizations.
  • Ensure that manual data submissions to our head-office and operating companies are replaced with automated processes, thereby improving efficiency, accuracy and timeliness of reporting.
  • Present findings to management, highlighting potential areas for improvement and growth opportunities.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to integrate Anaplan and Tableau with other systems and tools as needed.
  • Work with IAG Cargo stakeholders to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and establish monitoring mechanisms to track and analyse performance against targets in an automated fashion.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices and advancements in financial planning and analysis.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance the FP&A function and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Actively build and maintain strong relationships with finance and non-finance colleagues at all levels across IAG Cargo, British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus, Level, GBS to ensure alignment and efficiency with systems and processes.
  • Provide support to the FP&A team during quarter-end and budget process when required.

What you'll bring to IAG Cargo:

  • Strong proficiency in building and maintaining complex Anaplan models including modules, lists, formulas, and workflows.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills including ability to manipulate, analyse and interpret financial and business data.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, SQL, and data visualization best practices.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing intuitive and visually appealing Tableau dashboards and reports (or in equivalent tool).
  • Able to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Proactive and self-starter, taking the initiative to explore issues and to generate new ideas and approaches.
  • Takes responsibility for managing and prioritising own work with the resilience to work under pressure and deliver results to deadlines.
  • Flexible in approach, responding positively to change.
  • Strong team player with ability to promote good team working and cooperation.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Skills and Experience:

  • Qualifications: Anaplan certification, Tableau certification, Part-qualified / qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/ACMA or equivalent experience) is a plus.
  • Essential Experience: Business awareness and commercial acumen developed through the application of finance knowledge and experience, Numerate and accurate, Level 1 and Level 2 experience in Anaplan, Good IT skills and experience of finance systems preferably including SAP, Excel, Thinkcell, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Desirable Experience: To be conversational in another language e.g. Spanish, Practical technical accounting, Accounting background, including reporting and financial analysis, Good understanding of finance theory and good level of practical finance experience in technical group accounting, Commercial aptitude to external global threats and how these can impact a business or industry such as this.
