The Product Development Analyst plays a key role in supporting the performance analysis and continuous improvement of IAG Cargo's product portfolio. Reporting into the Product Development Manager, the role is responsible for analysing commercial and operational data to identify trends, promote opportunities for product enhancement and ensure IAG Cargo’s products remain aligned with market and customer expectations whilst driving financial contribution. This is an ideal role for an analytical thinker looking to develop technical capabilities and build a foundation in Product and Commercial development in a fast‑paced global environment.
What You'll Do
- Work as part of a team conducting analysis and driving strategic direction of IAG Cargo's product offering across core IAG Cargo products such as Prioritise, Perform and Fresh as well as specialist products.
- Monitor product performance using data and insight and develop reporting that demonstrates core performance and surfaces recommendations for improvement.
- Develop and maintain core daily/weekly/monthly product reporting and insight, presenting this to stakeholders across Commercial, Customer and Sales.
- Work closely with the wider Contribution Management and Commercial Development teams to ensure products are maximising contribution, making best use of available capacity and are competitive in the market.
- Partner with Commercial, Sales and Customer teams to ensure product propositions reflect customer expectations, commercial priorities and market opportunities.
- Use data to identify product gaps or underperformance and work with the Product Development Manager to develop and influence informed recommendations for tangible improvements.
- Champion the use of analytical tools, becoming the departmental SME in tools such as Tableau, PowerBI and SQL and help embed these capabilities across the wider Commercial teams.
- Identify how IAG Cargo compares to key competitors in terms of product features, service levels, and market share.
- Use this information and data insight to action improvements to the product portfolio.
- Feed into the Commercial Development roadmap to enable delivery of a structured, prioritised pipeline of product innovation and enhancements.
Qualifications & Skills
- Analytical mindset with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable working with large and varied datasets.
- Strong communication skills – able to explain technical insights in a clear and engaging way.
- Proactive, curious, and eager to develop.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and functions.
- Familiarity with data tools (e.g. Excel, Tableau, SQL) or willingness to rapidly develop these skills.
- Previous experience in a commercial or analytical role (desirable but not essential).
- Experience working with data visualisation tools (Tableau, Power BI) and Excel.
- Experience working within the logistics or airline industry to improve commercial and customer outcomes.
- Understanding of product.
- Familiarity with cargo or airline revenue management.
Location & Salary
Hounslow | Salary: £30,493 per year (estimated).
