About the role
- Line manage 1-2 graduates/Project Executives, supporting effective development and performance management of these individuals.
- Planning and delivery of core transformational projects in line with internal control and financial guidelines.
- Help define and manage the criteria for control of projects (including more complex projects), creating an environment where all aspects (progress/issues/risks/resources) are effectively managed.
- Proactively identify and manage risks, issues and dependencies within/between projects, leveraging project management and relationship-building skills to achieve this.
- Present an accurate view of transformation delivery at project level, ensuring change control is managed tightly, including for more complex projects. Identify and facilitate trade-offs within and outside managed projects as appropriate.
- Support effective resource planning at a project level, including for more complex projects, working closely with Transformation and wider business resource owners to support effective allocation of common resources and skills within IAG Cargo, in line with evolving business needs.
- Ensure effective communication to all project stakeholders and to other parts and levels of the organisation, including for more complex projects.
- Report project progress against change targets and identify effective mitigation to address gaps identified at a project level, including for more complex projects.
- Comply with standardised IAG Cargo project management principles, techniques, methods and tools, and encourage key project stakeholders to do the same.
- Facilitate delivery through a culture of continuous improvement, acting as a champion for driving day-to-day process improvement.
- Relationship and supplier management with external suppliers and key stakeholders to ensure design and delivery solutions meet business needs.
- Embed change into the organisation at all levels through effective business change planning and implementation.
- Build and sustain strong working relationships with project sponsors, accountable business owners and senior managers on projects, acting as a trusted advisor and business partner in the successful delivery of project goals, including for more complex projects.

What you’ll bring to IAG Cargo:
- Proven project management and planning experience, demonstrated by a successful track record of managing complex change projects to cost, quality and time.
- Experience of planning and delivering business change activities at a project level, including on more complex projects.
- Experience of owning and driving effective identification and mitigation of risks, issues and dependencies at project level, including on more complex projects.
- Solid stakeholder management skills, covering immediate project-level colleagues, but also senior management, operational staff, and external suppliers to achieve required outcomes.
- Experience of working within, or alongside, a Programme Management Office (PMO) to support effective governance, planning and progress reporting for an entire change portfolio.
- Significant exposure to and understanding of end-to-end business case development and approvals process for complex projects, in large, matrix-style organisations.
- Financially literate with proven understanding of budget management principles; ability to apply to support successful delivery of complex multi-£m projects, and establish effective relationships with Finance and Reporting colleagues.
- A track record of driving effective knowledge management and learning at complex project level, to support continuous improvement.
- An advanced understanding of how to manage external suppliers and end-to-end procurement processes.
- Demonstrable experience of leading and motivating small hybrid teams of internal/contractor resources, including resource and performance management.
- Understanding of people and resource management principles and some practical experience of applying these in the context of small teams.
- Experience from the aviation and/or logistics sectors would be a bonus but is not essential; experience of working on complex IT projects and fast-paced, changeable environments with new technology/product highly desirable.
- Advanced MS Office skills and comfort in using Excel, Powerpoint, MS Project etc in a hybrid working environment to drive insight and decision-making rigour across disparate teams.
