About The Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Technology - Digital Sales, the Product (Digital) Architect bridges business strategy, product vision and technical execution. Operating across both product-focused and solution-focused initiatives, the role ensures that digital solutions are robustly designed, technically sound, and aligned with business goals.
You will analyse business needs, define architectural direction, create technical designs, and partner closely with engineering, product, and delivery teams. You will also collaborate with Enterprise and Domain Architecture to ensure all solutions align with IAG's architectural standards, roadmaps and strategic principles. This role flexes depending on the initiative sometimes shaping the architecture of a digital product, other times defining cross-functional solutions for complex business problems.
What You’ll Do
- People/Relationship
- Build, develop and maintain sustainable respectful stakeholder relationships.
- Inspire outcome-based decision making.
- Lead performance reviews with key stakeholder groups.
- Governance
- Ensure full adherence to all governance, standards, and processes across the IAG Cargo organisation.
- Conduct internal functional technology satisfaction surveys and drive continual improvement across the team.
- Proactively contribute to continual improvement across IAG Cargo, specifically in relation to the Operating Model and ways of working.
- Architecture & Design
- Define digital architectures that support product vision, business outcomes and enterprise strategy.
- Design end-to-end solutions using appropriate patterns, technologies and platforms (including cloud).
- Ensure architectural integrity, alignment to standards, roadmaps, security principles and best practice.
- Maintain a domain-level view of capabilities, applications and integrations, ensuring consistency and technical quality.
- Delivery & Execution
- Oversee architectural implementation and ensure quality of delivered solutions.
- Ensure functional and non-functional requirements are understood, documented and traceable.
- Manage deviations from the agreed architecture, escalating where required.
- Plan and review quality checkpoints throughout delivery, ensuring dependencies and risks are identified.
- Product & Market Insight
- Translate customer and business needs into clear product features and architectural requirements.
- Conduct market, industry and technology research to guide solution design and product evolution.
- Drive simplification, minimising customisation and reducing technical debt.
- Stakeholder & Supplier Engagement
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with stakeholders across business and technology.
- Influence decision-making and manage differing viewpoints to achieve balanced architectural outcomes.
- Partner with suppliers and delivery partners, reviewing and approving technical deliverables.
- Governance & Continuous Improvement
- Ensure full adherence to IAG governance, processes and architectural standards.
- Conduct and respond to technology satisfaction surveys, driving team and process improvements.
- Contribute to Digital & IT operating model improvements and ways of working.
- Help develop and mature architectural capability across IAG Cargo.

Qualifications
Educated to degree level or equivalent experience. Certification in TOGAF or an equivalent qualification in IT architecture.
Experience
Essential Experience:
- Significant experience in an architecture role.
- Proficiency in operating within both Agile and Structured delivery environments.
- Hands-on experience with Azure or AWS cloud platforms.
- Previous track record serving as a Solutions Architect or Technical Architect.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience working in the Logistics, Freight, Courier industry.
- Experience of major technology and business change programs.
