About The Role
Reporting directly to the Head of Technology, the Project Manager takes full accountability for the successful delivery of all technology solution deliverables within business projects to pre‑agreed time, cost and quality criteria. You will be accountable for the successful mobilisation, delivery and handover of all technology solutions using both waterfall and agile methodologies. This includes managing both internal and external resources, managing all IT spend within the project and ensuring the solution supports the business in realising the associated benefits of the project.

Governance
- Member/Invitee of the following boards: Project Delivery Board, Steer Co’s, Triage Meetings, Financial Approval Boards, Portfolio Review Board.
- Ensure full adherence to all governance, standards, and processes across the IAG Cargo organisation.
- Conduct internal functional technology satisfaction surveys and drive continual improvement across the team.
- Proactively contribute to continual improvement across IAG Cargo, specifically in relation to the Operating Model and ways of working.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the single point of contact between the project team and all technology resources, ensuring clear communication and alignment on IT deliverables.
- Oversee the end‑to‑end delivery of IT solutions partnering with our suppliers, validating project delivery methodologies and ensuring alignment of deliverables to project objectives.
- Ensure the creation and maintenance of the Solution Delivery plan to monitor and track progress.
- Apply and enforce delivery governance, ensuring all project lifecycle activities follow agreed standards and methodologies (waterfall and agile).
- Develop and maintain the Solution Delivery Plan, tracking milestones, dependencies, risks, and progress against schedule.
- Manage project financials for all IT‑related spend, including budget forecasting, approval of expenditure, and tracking of actuals to ensure compliance with agreed budget.
- Lead project initiation activities, ensuring successful mobilisation, clear objectives, and defined high‑level business requirements.
- Define and validate the IT scope together with IT Business analyst and solution architect, confirming alignment with business needs, benefits, expected outcomes, and high‑level KPIs.
- Assure the quality of technology solutions, coordinating with Solution Assurance teams and managing defect resolution across the lifecycle.
- Direct the deployment of technology changes, ensuring smooth go‑lives and resolution of any post‑deployment issues.
- Manage the transition of solutions into support, ensuring all service acceptance criteria are met and operational readiness is achieved.
- Coordinate internal IT teams and external vendors, ensuring effective resource utilisation and seamless delivery across multiple projects.
- Oversee third‑party statements of work, tracking vendor performance, deliverables, and associated costs.
- Monitor and report project performance, using appropriate tools to measure progress against plan, KPIs, and benefits.
- Communicate accurate and timely project updates to business stakeholders and portfolio governance bodies.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, protecting delivery timelines, costs, and quality.
- Control project changes, managing adjustments to scope, schedule or budget using established change‑management processes.

- Proven and demonstrable track record of successfully managing and leading projects in a multinational environment.

- Proven track record of using project and portfolio management and/or Agile methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, MSP, SAFe).
Desirable Experience
- Experience of using project, programme and portfolio management tools (e.g., MS Project, Portfolio for Jira, SAP PPM, MS PPM, HP PPM, Primavera).
- Experience in Logistics, Freight, Courier industry.
- Experience in multi-entity, multi-country operating companies.
- Experience in major technology and business change programs.
