About the role
As Ethics & Compliance Manager, you will be pivotal in identifying compliance risk and establish the necessary control framework to support compliance with all relevant national and international laws and regulations in scope for Ethics and Compliance. You will design, implement and monitor an Ethics & Compliance programme to protect the business from a
complex set of regulatory risks including Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Sanctions, Data Privacy and Spanish Criminal Code.
You will build strong relationships and provide comprehensive support and guidance to personally drive forward compliance focus, drive a step change in risk management, process and control improvement at IAG Cargo. You will support the employees to always conduct business following applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies.
You will play a key role in managing third party risk ensuring third party relationships are screened, risks identified and mitigating actions in place. You will design and implement the necessary guidance and training, required to identify, and mitigate potential compliance risks and support IAG Cargo in promoting the highest standards of ethics, honesty, openness and accountability throughout all areas of IAG Cargo.
What you’ll do
Promote a risk-based approach for the implementation of policies and procedures and foster and support an organisational culture of integrity and ethical decision-making, in compliance with IAG’s Code of Conduct. Ensure that IAG Cargo has an effective Ethics & Compliance (E&C) Programme including:
Risk Management
- Responsible for identifying, quantifying and managing E&C risk. Regularly coordinate compliance risk assessments to identify specific compliance risks
- Ensure adequate measures are in place to comply and these are fit for purpose against regulatory changes.
- Own the third-party due diligence process and ensure our third-party relationship are fully reputable, red flags are identified and mitigated and controls are put in place to protect IAG Cargo.
- Engage with customers and suppliers on their ethics and due diligence questionnaires.
- Ensure compliance risks from business change projects are effectively managed.
Standards and Controls
- Develop full monitoring of processes and controls that protect the business and ensure we are working in full compliance with laws and regulations and conducting business ethically.
- Ensure all compliance principles, policies and procedures are clearly defined and proactively appraised and communicated to ensure compliance with Group requirements and local law.
Training and Communication
- Champion the importance of E&C across the business through development of fit for purpose training material across key compliance risk areas.
- Develop and implement an E&C Communication Plan
Speaking-up Processes
- Promote a Speak-up culture and manage IAG Cargo’s whistleblowing channel and related investigation process.
- Report critical cases and those considered to be relevant to continuously improve the Compliance Programme at Group level.
- Leading/managing all investigations in core Compliance Areas, which may include assigning of internal or external investigators or as addressed in the IAG Group’s investigation and whistleblowing regulations.
- Work with People Team to ensure consistent application of discipline and response to situations of non-compliance.
Governance & Oversight
- Developing and implementing an Annual Compliance Plan, in alignment with IAG’s Compliance strategy and priorities.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the E&C programme by developing suitable efficiency and follow-up metrics.
- Provide periodic reports to the Group, and if necessary to IAG Management Committee, Executive Board or Audit Committee on compliance risks as well as Compliance Management System implementation and effectiveness.
Support
- Review, advise and guide the businesses on compliance matters, provide assistance, judgement and challenge to the business.
- Exercise and promote greater tone from the top with respect to communicating key activities related to E&C. Support the leadership team to promote a culture of compliance and ethical decision-making.
- Liaise with Legal to ensure that all contracts are fit for purpose
- Liaise with internal and external audit to support Group Audit Programme when required to plan risk based and tailored compliance audits.
