Role Responsibilities:
- Maintenance of all electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on all machinery, robotics, lasers, and ancillary material handling equipment to maintain efficiency and utilization of 95%.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining proactive maintenance systems for PPM and TPM.
- Route cause analysis to identify issues and provide first-time fixes to reduce downtime. Fault finding and repair on electrical issues and mechanical faults on hydraulics and pneumatics.
- Effective and timely response to all breakdowns.
- Adhere to all company HSE policies and procedures at all times.
- Comply with LOTO procedures at all times.
- Recommend improvements to equipment and processes to enhance quality and productivity.
- Perform safety checks on all machines.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance checks on all production equipment and machinery.
- Replace and repair parts on machines such as bearings, filters, wiring, valves, gauges, and switches.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments.
- Replace electrical parts and equipment as required.
- Observe and listen to mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantle machinery to gain access to and remove defective parts.
- Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Repair or replace defective parts.
- Lubricate and clean parts as required.
- Start machinery to test their performance.
- Implement continuous improvement activities to assist cost down at all times.
- Any other projects or tasks assigned to you by management as required.
- Shift working and flexibility essential.
Qualifications and Experience:
- NVQ level 3 in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
- Must have previous experience working in a high volume, high class, automotive environment.
- Experience of working with injection molding machines.
- Experience in practical mechanical / electrical engineering.
- Demonstrate effective time management.
- Experienced in Robotics, specifically ABB 6 Axis robot / Fanuc and PLC Programming.
- Knowledge of Quality systems such as IATF16949 / ISO 9000 a distinct advantage.
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Team player – flexible on colleague cover and working outside normal hours.
- Prepared to accommodate emergency call out (within reasonable parameters).
- Understanding of IATF16949/ISO9001 Quality standards.
