A world-renowned engineering business based in Suffolk, East Anglia, is seeking applications from experienced New Business Development professionals. We are specifically looking for sales professionals with a background in the Marine or Industrial Power sector and experience of selling either Generators or Engines (or similar). The successful applicant will have a strong proven track record in Business Development & Sales. You will be able to work independently, thrive at communicating confidently and accurately at all levels, and possess exceptional organisational and presentation skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Qualifying and scoping new opportunities in new and emerging markets
  • Identifying prospects, researching and analysing sales options
  • Attending networking events
  • Establishing contact with prospects and developing relationships
  • Translating customers' ideas into tangible solutions
  • Attending meetings within the UK and overseas
  • Reporting directly to the Head of Operations
  • Generating and providing quotations
  • Operating as the single point of contact through the sales process
  • Collaborating with the Engineering Design Team, Production and Test to ensure the correct technical outcomes for the client

Candidate Profile:

  • A tenacious drive to generate new business
  • High levels of attention to detail
  • Proven business development experience in the Marine and/or Industrial power generation market; please note this experience is an essential requirement for this role and candidates without relevant direct experience will not be considered
  • Ability to work independently to meet targets
  • Communicate in a confident, professional, and technical manner across all levels of the business
  • You will be conversant with Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Full clean UK driving licence required

As the role involves travel, a full UK driving licence is required.
