The Opportunity: As the Azure Cloud Lead, you will guide global Azure cloud engineers and architects to provide service insight, response, and delivery to maintain high service reliability and availability with low touch through extensible services and platforms, standardized processes, data insights, and product feedback. This role plays a crucial position in building a transparent approach to engineering cloud solutions while ensuring efforts are completed in the most cost-effective manner. An evangelist of DevOps processes, the role will be key in leading Crawford through a maturation of its Azure cloud platform, delivering Cloud solutions that are both scalable and cost effective.

What You Will Be Doing: You will play a key role in coaching and orchestrating efforts for Crawford’s cloud engineers and architects. Working with Corporate & Business IT leadership to set long term strategic direction for the cloud services and best practices, formulating policies and procedures that support that direction. Assist leadership with vision, strategy, policies and capabilities, by evaluating the needs of new or existing systems, verifying solutions meet our needs and assisting in the procurement where needed.

  • Manages and forecasts for monthly cloud spend across our public cloud providers.
  • Continually improves the talent level and competencies of global cloud resources & partners with development teams to further integrate capabilities.
  • Establishes SLAs with technology partners and vendors.
  • Acts as a mentor to cloud engineering resources and other IT engineers.
  • Helps to develop long-term plans and sets the tactical direction for the IT cloud needs of the company.
  • Works closely with the information security team to ensure compliance with all security requirements ensuring proper priority.
  • Works with Internal Audit to ensure effective compliance testing.

About You: Completion of a college or university bachelor’s degree in information systems/technology or equivalent in education and/or combination of work experience. Ability to be well-versed in cloud technologies, modern engineering, CICD Pipeline processes, and DevOps processes. Analysing workflow, delegation of project and responsibilities to balance workload and meet departmental goals. Principles, practices and techniques of cloud driven information systems management, including hardware and software options for business, engineering and operations applications and the cost-benefit of systems alternatives. Experience with migrating and running production applications in public cloud environments. Systems analysis methods and techniques. Strong financial acumen in terms of budgeting and expense management. Proven ability to recruit, retain, and motivate highly skilled technical teams. Understands technology at a detailed level but can express concepts simply to non-technical colleagues. Ability to inspire teams to achieve goals and exceed expectations. Strong technical skills especially in the technologies in use at the company. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively and equally with technical people as well as executives.
