We are looking for the right team member to help build our Project Controls capability across i3Works. i3Works deliver measurable value for our clients across the defence, private, public and third sector environments. We have an extensive range of service capabilities and expertise provided by our best-in-class team which we are seeking to expand. We are looking for a multi-skilled consultant within Project Controls. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in planning and scheduling, and the ability to deliver across the range of Project Controls skillsets.
Role Purpose
While this role primarily focuses on project controls, at i3Works we employ consultants with diverse skills in both PC and P3M. This approach not only enhances understanding across the delivery team but also allows our consultants to be deployed across various disciplines within projects, adding significant value, ensuring successful and efficient delivery, and becoming an asset to any team.
Our ideal candidate has expertise covering all aspects of the following:
- Experience delivering for Defence Sector, i.e. DE&S and Defence Digital
- Experience delivering in Central Government, i.e. Home Office, HMRC and DEFRA
- Experience of effective project controls and project management on complex construction and/or infrastructure projects.
- Experience of setting up effective project controls and project management services/audit, and assurance frameworks/strategies.
- Demonstrable experience of planning and scheduling, with a comprehensive knowledge of risk, planning and cost tools, techniques and software.
- Ability to manage activities with significant uncertainty of solution or outcome.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to ‘deep dive’ into topics.
- Experience or equivalent supporting the delivery of a range of project controls and project management services within management consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
Delivery
- Provide Project Controls and project management input on client projects working collaboratively across multi-functional teams and taking a proactive approach, anticipating challenges and addressing them in a timely manner.
- Work collaboratively with clients and internal teams to ensure alignment and mutual understanding of project goals.
- Deliver solutions that provide maximum benefit and value to the client, meeting or exceeding their expectations.
- Provide regular updates and progress reports to clients, maintaining transparency and trust.
Client Relationships and Business Development
- Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with clients, through understanding client needs and delivering tailored solutions that add value.
- Promote i3Works' services and capabilities during client meetings, demonstrating expertise.
- Contribute to the preparation of bid documents and proposals where necessary.
Internal Workstreams
- Seek out and support on internal projects that drive business improvements and operational efficiency.
- Actively seek opportunities for professional growth and support the development of junior team members.
Ideal candidates will be able to apply APM methodologies underpinned by practical experience of project control delivery as well as marketing the organisation’s capabilities when required, including business development activities.
Experience and Qualifications
- Project Controls or related qualifications (such as PPMC, PP&C, MoR, RMP, PRINCE2, PMI-SP etc)
- High level of knowledge within at least one area of PC underpinned by fundamental understanding across PC and P3M, with a thirst for developing their breadth and depth of knowledge across multiple areas of PC and P3M.
- Developing the ability to manage people across PC and P3M.
- Experience delivering utilising waterfall, agile and hybrid methodologies.
- Previous consulting experience preferred.
- The suitable candidate will need National Security Vetting (NSV) security clearance. They will, preferably, already hold NSV to a high or very high standard, but must be able, and willing, to achieve it.
Role Location
Our consultants are expected to work in a hybrid environment, in accordance with our clients' requirements. We require our people to be within an easily commutable distance of our Bristol office, and to be able to co-locate at our client locations, which are typically 50 miles of Bristol or along the M4/M5 corridor. New clients are always coming on board, and we require our consultants to be able to work flexibly and wherever this work requires.
