This is a key position within i3Works; we are looking for the right individual to help continue to grow our technology architecture capabilities and offering across our i3Works business.
We deliver measurable value for clients across defence, private and public sector environments. Our team provides a wide range of service capabilities. We are looking for a technical solution architect with experience delivering public and private cloud solutions, utilising best practices to design and deliver high‑quality, secure solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of complex IT solutions on time, within budget, and aligned to client needs.
- Collaborate with technical and business teams to translate business needs into scalable and sustainable architectures.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Create and review high‑quality technical designs and architecture documentation.
- Ensure solutions meet enterprise standards, security policies, and compliance requirements.
- Provide architectural governance and oversight throughout the solution delivery lifecycle.
- Recommend technologies and best practices to enhance solution performance and resilience.
Must have or be eligible for and willing to undergo UK Government security vetting (at least to Security Clearance level). Willingness to travel to client sites.
Desirable Skills
- Strong knowledge of current technologies used to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
- Experience designing and scaling the delivery of large and small systems.
- Proven experience designing complex systems in secure or regulated environments.
- Broad understanding of application architectures and supporting cloud infrastructures.
- Experience describing a technical subject to a non‑technical audience.
- Extensive experience working with multiple stakeholders including end users and CxO level.
- Experience working in the Defence, Nuclear or the Public Sector industries.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving abilities.
Role Location
Our consultants are expected to work in a hybrid environment, in accordance with our clients. Our people should be within a commutable distance of our Bristol office and be able to co‑locate at client locations typically within 50 miles of Bristol or along the M4 corridor. New clients are always coming on board so flexibility and the ability to work wherever the work requires is required.
