We are seeking an experienced Portfolio Manager (PMO) to join a Group-wide Portfolio Management Office, playing a key role in shaping and optimising an enterprise-wide change portfolio. This is a high-impact position responsible for overseeing delivery across a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives. The successful candidate will embed robust portfolio management processes, enhance governance, and drive data-led prioritisation and decision-making at senior stakeholder level.
- Oversee portfolio delivery, ensuring clear visibility of progress, risks, dependencies, financials, and benefits.
- Embed and continuously improve portfolio governance frameworks and reporting standards.
- Provide transparent, high-quality reporting to support informed executive decision-making.
- Support and coach stakeholders and delivery teams on business case development, governance processes, and best practices.
- Facilitate governance forums such as Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
- Manage interdependencies, risks, and resource demands across the portfolio.
- Support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control aligned to funding models.
- Conduct stage gate reviews in line with the Change Management Framework.
- Drive improvements in capacity and resource management capability.
- Identify synergies and resolve conflicts between change priorities and business-as-usual activities.
Experience required:
- Strong PMO and portfolio management experience, ideally within Financial Services or a regulated environment.
- Experience supporting enterprise-level governance and change frameworks.
- Confidence facilitating senior stakeholder forums and QBRs.
- Expertise in portfolio prioritisation, pipeline management, and benefits tracking.
- Solid financial management knowledge (budgets, forecasts, financial cycles).
- Experience with PPM tools (e.g., Planview AdaptiveWork or similar), along with JIRA, Confluence, and MS Office tools.
- Knowledge of delivery methodologies such as MSP, Prince2, SDLC, Scrum, or SAFe.
- A strong understanding of P3M theory and PMO best practice, including maturity models.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate comfortably in a corporate environment.
