London (Hybrid - 2-3 Days per Week in the Office)
Salary: £95,000 - £120,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

We are seeking a Lead Applied Scientist to provide technical leadership across AI, Machine Learning, Large Language Models (LLMs), and advanced analytics initiatives. This is a highly influential role where you'll set scientific standards, guide technical strategy, and lead the design and delivery of AI solutions that solve complex business challenges.
The Opportunity
As the senior scientific authority within the AI and Data Science function, you will lead the development of innovative AI and ML solutions from concept through to production. You'll work closely with engineering, business stakeholders, and senior leadership to ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and deliver measurable value.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of AI, Machine Learning, and Generative AI solutions.
Drive the adoption of Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), and Agentic AI approaches.
Define evaluation frameworks, testing strategies, and model performance standards.
Act as the technical authority for scientific decisions and solution quality.
Mentor and develop Data Scientists and AI Engineers across the team.
Collaborate with senior stakeholders to translate business challenges into data-driven solutions.
Champion responsible AI practices, including fairness, explainability, and governance.
