Role Description
This is a part time 1 day per week, on-site Bookkeeper role based in Glasgow. The Bookkeeper will manage day-to-day financial records, including posting and reconciling journal entries, maintaining ledgers, and ensuring accurate documentation of income and expenses. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing basic financial reports, supporting month-end and year-end processes, and assisting with budgeting and cash flow tracking. The Bookkeeper will use accounting software to process invoices, payments, and receipts, and will help monitor accounts payable and receivable. This role also involves supporting the optometry team with financial queries, maintaining compliance with relevant regulations, and contributing to efficient practice operations.
Qualifications
- Strong bookkeeping skills, including accurate data entry, ledger maintenance, and journal entries (Accounting).
- Ability to prepare, interpret, and support the production of financial statements and other financial reports.
- Proficiency with accounting software and related financial tools; comfort with learning new systems.
- Solid understanding of finance fundamentals, such as budgeting, cash flow, and basic financial analysis.
- Relevant experience in a bookkeeping or accounting support role; experience in healthcare or retail environments is an advantage.
- Excellent attention to detail, numeracy, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, capable of handling multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff.
- Vocational qualification or coursework in bookkeeping, accounting, or finance is beneficial.
