I am seeking an Assistant Buyer to play an integral part in managing inventory and supporting stock replenishment for my Gloucester based client. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone ready to take the next step in their career within supply chain, and join a progressive and support team!

About you:

  • Previous experience in a similar role (Assistant Buyer, Stock Controller, or related positions)
  • A desire to learn and develop
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and drive
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Experience with SAGE (desirable but not essential)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with placing purchase orders and managing stock replenishment processes
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels across various locations
  • Ensure products are available on time and within budget
  • Support forecasting activities and adjust for new sales trends
  • Maintain accurate records and data for all stock-related activities
  • Produce reports and analysis as requested
  • Monitoring overseas shipments and ensuring all necessary paperwork is processed for customs
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and adjusting forecasts based on sales and marketing data
  • Participate in meetings and contribute to decision-making processes
  • Occasionally visit warehouses, factories, or suppliers when required
