Reporting to the Cell Leader in Component Repair weld shop, the role involves welding and brazing precision aircraft engine components for engine overhaul, assembly and test. The employee works independently while maintaining a safe working environment and producing high‑quality components.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out TIG welding of aircraft engine components to fine tolerance limits.
  • Apply brazing procedures.
  • Perform mechanical fitting functions.
  • Use engineering drawings and OEM technical manuals.
  • Use measuring equipment to inspect engine components.
  • Maintain precise attention to detail and a high level of concentration.
  • Demonstrate good manual dexterity.
  • Conduct PC work with OEM manuals.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Time served welder with apprenticeship/qualification essential.
  • Experience working in a welding workshop environment.
  • Knowledge or understanding of Local Heat Treat processes beneficial but not essential.

Additional Expectations

  • All duties shall be performed safely in accordance with GE EH&S policy, company quality procedures and aerospace standards. Employees are expected to display a mature and positive attitude.
  • Carry out any other tasks reasonably requested by supervisor/management.

Security Clearance

Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained for this role. Failure to obtain BPSS may result in ineligibility and offer withdrawal.
