Job Description Summary GE Medical Systems Limited is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Biomedical Trainee Engineer to join our team.

This entry-level role provides a valuable opportunity to gain hands‑on experience in the medical device industry, supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of advanced medical equipment.

The position is fully onsite in London and forms part of a two‑year trainee program with the potential for a permanent role upon successful completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior engineers with the installation, configuration, and calibration of a wide range of medical devices.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance programs, performing routine inspections and servicing to ensure equipment performance, reliability, and patient safety.
  • Support the troubleshooting and repair of complex biomedical systems, learning diagnostic techniques and the use of specialized tools.
  • Accurately document all service activities, including installations, maintenance, and repairs, in line with company procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Comply strictly with all quality, safety, and healthcare regulations related to medical devices and patient care.
  • Actively engage in ongoing learning through internal training, mentorship, and self-study to expand technical expertise.
  • Contribute to the management of spare parts and tools inventory, ensuring availability and proper record-keeping.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Strong foundational understanding of electronics, mechanics, and computer systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and complex equipment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
  • Commitment to patient safety, quality standards, and ethical practices.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
  • Prior internship or project experience in a biomedical or technical environment is an advantage.
