The company processes high-volume online orders and has recently moved into a brand-new warehouse as part of an exciting growth phase. The warehouse is central to the business, and the Warehouse Operatives will play a key part in ensuring customer orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time. This role is essential to maintaining service levels, supporting continued growth and delivering a positive experience for customers.
The Role of a Warehouse Operative
We are recruiting Warehouse Operatives to join a busy and growing warehouse operation. This is a hands-on role suited to individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, take pride in accuracy and are motivated by targets and teamwork. You will be involved in all aspects of the warehouse operation and will contribute to the smooth and efficient running of daily order fulfilment.
Key Responsibilities of a Warehouse Operative
- Accurately picking customer orders using warehouse systems
- Packing orders securely and efficiently to meet daily dispatch deadlines
- Meet hourly picking and packing targets
- Ensure all orders are completed and ready for dispatch within daily cut-off times
- Replenish picking locations
- Support daily productivity targets by assisting other areas of the warehouse when required
- Carry out general warehouse duties during quieter periods including cleaning, organising and stock rotation
- Assist with goods-in and stock movement
- Always follow all health & safety procedures
- Work collaboratively with the team to ensure overall warehouse KPIs are achieved
The Ideal Warehouse Operative
- Previous warehouse or order fulfilment experience is beneficial but not essential
- Able to work at pace while maintaining high levels of accuracy
- Reliable, punctual and committed to meeting targets
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling tasks
- A positive team player with a proactive attitude
- Willing to learn and adapt as the business continues to grow
- Good attention to detail and organisational skills
Pay & Working Hours
Hourly rate: £12.71
Hours: Monday to Friday 6:00am – 2:00pm or 8:00am – 4:00pm
Overtime available
