Role Overview
As you can imagine, Forensic Services is an integral part of the Met. We make a significant contribution to London’s safety, through wide-ranging technical and scientific expertise. This is a chance for a talented Quality Manager to make a valuable contribution to our management system, represent our vast force at national committees and influence the quality landscape in forensic services across England and Wales.
Responsibilities and Activities
You’ll team up with two talented Quality Managers who work closely with all aspects of forensics, from crime scene examination and specialist imaging, to evidence recovery, digital and fingerprint comparison. Whether you’ve worked in this field or not, you’ll know what it takes to design, implement and maintain our quality management systems. As you take the lead on quality-related issues, you’ll advise on the most appropriate implementation methods to be used for compliance against standards, liaise with external parties (such as suppliers and accreditation bodies), raise quality awareness and conduct audits. Always, you’re looking for continual improvement as we expand our ISO 17025 scope and start work on ISO 17020.
Qualifications
With an in-depth knowledge of establishing and maintaining quality management systems (particularly accredited to ISO 17025), you can interpret international standards and determine the most appropriate methodology. A natural problem-solver, you’ll have the interpersonal skills to gel quickly with the team and get results.
