Due to continued growth, i-Protech Technology Ltd is looking to recruit an experienced Security Engineer to join our team in Westhill.
This is a varied field-based role covering the installation, service, maintenance and commissioning of electronic security systems across domestic and commercial sites.
The successful candidate will work across CCTV, intruder alarms, access control and fire detection systems and will be expected to deliver work to a consistently high technical and customer-service standard.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their workmanship, understands the importance of proper testing and commissioning and is comfortable working independently as well as part of a wider team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Installation of intruder alarm systems
- Installation of CCTV systems
- Installation of access control systems
- Installation and maintenance of fire detection systems
- Service and planned preventative maintenance visits
- Fault finding and remedial works
- System takeovers and upgrades
- Programming and commissioning of security systems
- Setting up and testing alarm signalling and monitoring connections
- Carrying out full functional testing before systems are handed over
- Liaising with Alarm Receiving Centres where required
- Ensuring intruder and confirmed alarm signalling is correctly tested and documented
- Configuring network-connected CCTV and security equipment
- Carrying out system demonstrations and customer handovers
- Completing service reports, commissioning records and certification accurately
- Identifying additional faults or remedial work while on site
- Working from drawings, specifications and job information
- Assisting with surveys and technical assessments where required
- Maintaining a high standard of workmanship, presentation and site cleanliness
- Ensuring work complies with relevant standards, manufacturer requirements and company procedures
- Working closely with the office and technical team to ensure jobs are completed properly and outstanding issues are followed through
Applicants should ideally have previous experience as a security systems engineer, experience with intruder alarms and CCTV systems, good fault-finding and diagnostic ability, experience programming and commissioning security equipment, a good understanding of alarm signalling and monitored systems, strong customer-service skills and a full UK driving licence.
Experience with Pyronix, HKC, Hikvision, CSL DualCom, access control systems, fire detection systems, ARC signalling, police response systems, SSAIB-compliant systems or network/IP configuration would be advantageous.
Training can be provided on manufacturers and systems where required, and applicants with strong core security experience will be considered even if they have not worked with every system used by i-Protech.
