I Need Staff Today Limited, a recruitment agency based in Wolverhampton, is currently recruiting for an experienced Flame & Plasma Cutter to join our clients team in Darlaston. This is a great opportunity for a skilled and reliable candidate looking for ongoing work with flexible weekly hours in a well-established industrial environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for cutting metal materials using both flame and plasma cutting equipment, ensuring accuracy and maintaining high quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operating flame and plasma cutting equipment to cut metal materials to required specifications
- Setting up cutting equipment and selecting appropriate settings for different materials and thicknesses
- Reading and interpreting basic engineering drawings, measurements, or job instructions
- Ensuring all cuts are accurate and meet required quality standards
- Inspecting materials before and after cutting to ensure suitability and precision
- Maintaining cutting equipment and reporting any faults or issues
- Keeping the work area clean, organised, and safe
- Following all health and safety procedures and site regulations
Requirements
- Previous experience operating flame cutting and/or plasma cutting machinery
- Ability to read basic drawings or follow technical instructions
- Good understanding of metal cutting processes and materials
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Awareness of health and safety procedures within a workshop or industrial environment
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Reliable, punctual, and with a strong work ethic
