I Need Staff Today Limited, a recruitment agency based in Codsall, is currently recruiting experienced Tool Setters on behalf of our client, a well-established manufacturing company in the West Midlands. Due to a recent production restructure designed to strengthen technical capability and keep presses running efficiently, our client is expanding their production team and is looking to hire multiple skilled Tool Setters to join their operation.
This role involves working with 130-tonne power presses used to form aluminium food containers. Candidates with power press, tool setting, or engineering experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
Shift PatternThis role operates on rotating 8-hour shifts, Monday to Friday, with three Tool Setters per shift:
- 07:00 - 15:00
- 15:00 - 23:00
- 23:00 - 07:00
- Starting salary of £35,000 per year
- 28 days annual leave (including bank holidays)
- Overtime available when required
- Typically Saturdays
- Occasionally full weekends or additional hours after shift
- Training provided on company machinery and processes
- Opportunity to work within a technically focused production team
- Setting and adjusting tooling on 130-tonne power presses
- Supporting production to ensure machines run efficiently
- Monitoring production runs and making adjustments when required
- Responding to material fluctuations during production
- Minimising machine downtime through proactive intervention

- Previous experience as a Tool Setter, Power Press Operator, or similar role
- Background in manufacturing, mechanical engineering, or press operations
- Knowledge or awareness of PUWER regulations
- Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
- Flexible and willing to learn new processes and machinery
