Staff Today, a trusted recruitment agency based in Wolverhampton with over 25 years of experience, is working on behalf of a leading and expanding sheet metal and fabrication company in Telford. Our client is known for delivering high-quality metalwork solutions to a range of industries and is now seeking a skilled Quality Engineer to join their team.

About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring all products meet the highest quality standards and comply with ISO 9001:2015 requirements. Youll be responsible for inspections, audits, and quality assurance processes, while working closely with both customers and suppliers to maintain excellence.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Carry out first-off, in-process, and final inspections.

  • Use a range of measuring equipment including Vernier callipers, protractors, height gauges, and CMM/measuring arms.

  • Read, interpret, and work from technical/engineering drawings.

  • Produce and maintain PPAP documentation (control plans, PFMEAs, first article inspection reports, etc.).

  • Conduct internal quality audits in line with ISO 9001:2015 standards.

  • Liaise with customers and suppliers regarding quality matters.

  • Analyse data and implement effective quality control and assurance processes.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

  • Mechanical engineering or quality background (sheet metal experience preferred).

  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001:2015 standards and auditing procedures.

  • IT and PC literate.

  • Experienced with precision measuring equipment.

  • Proven track record in PPAP generation and quality assurance.

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

  • Confident communicator with customer/supplier-facing experience.

  • Full UK driving licence required.
