Credit Controller Salary: £32,000 per annum Location: Cannock Working Hours: 09:00 – 17:00 Job Type: Full-time Job Description I Need Staff Today Limited, a recruitment agency based in Codsall, is recruiting on behalf of our client in Cannock for a Credit Controller to join a group of companies. We are looking for an organised, proactive and detail-oriented individual to support the credit control function across the group. The successful candidate will help manage outstanding payments, maintain accurate account records and build professional relationships with customers to ensure payments are received on time.
Key Responsibilities
Managing customer accounts and monitoring outstanding balances. Contacting customers by telephone and email to chase overdue payments. Building and maintaining positive relationships with customers. Investigating payment discrepancies and resolving account queries. Allocating incoming payments to the correct customer accounts. Monitoring credit limits and payment terms. Maintaining accurate records of customer communications and payment arrangements. Producing reports on outstanding debts and overdue accounts. Liaising with internal departments to resolve invoicing and payment issues. Supporting the wider finance team with general accounts-related duties.
Requirements
Previous experience in credit control or a similar finance-related role is desirable. Good communication and negotiation skills. Confidence when contacting customers about overdue payments. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Good numerical and problem-solving abilities. Competent IT skills and experience using accounting systems. Ability to manage workloads, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. A professional approach and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
