This position requires an individual with a demonstrable track record of providing practical, hands-on expertise to a wide range of heavy construction plant, rigs, construction machinery or equipment. Due to the recent award of several major projects and various ongoing framework contracts, our client now wishes to strengthen their engineering team with the appointment of an experienced Heavy Plant Fitter.
Responsibilities- Report to the Plant & Fleet Manager and take total responsibility for the company’s expansive fleet of rigs, plant and equipment.
- Carry out repairs, servicing and planned, reactive and preventative maintenance on a wide range of heavy construction plant, rigs, construction machinery and equipment.
- Carry out the servicing, inspection and repair of a fleet of large piling and drilling rigs and associated plant/machinery to keep them in a fit-for-purpose condition at all times.
- Work on pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems, applying good understanding and previous experience in these areas.
- Produce, keep and maintain accurate servicing records and other paperwork, such as reports and inspection logs.
- Travel to sites to attend emergency breakdowns and provide on-site support as required.
- Demonstrable track record of practical, hands-on expertise with heavy construction plant, rigs, construction machinery or equipment.
- Experience working on large construction plant and machinery, with a good understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical and mechanical systems.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites for emergency breakdowns and maintenance.
- Ability to maintain precise service records and reports with high accuracy and efficiency.
- Willingness to pursue further qualifications, training and development as required.
