The Role

As Business Development Manager you will lead the sales process for the enhancement of existing clients, develop new opportunities, and manage specific bids, including framework agreements and standalone tenders.

You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end ownership of opportunities from pipeline to handover, ensuring robust selectivity criteria are applied and resources are appropriately allocated.

Existing and new clients will receive tender opportunities, winning proposals, and client‑specific advice. You will also provide budgetary and technical guidance and report regularly to directors on progress.

The Person

We seek a candidate with a comprehensive understanding of piling, foundations, and ground/geotechnical engineering markets and a proven record of winning contracts and developing opportunities within these sectors.

Essential skills include:

• Strong technical background with demonstrable business development and bidding experience.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in tendering, proposal production, and client relationship management.
• Commercial acumen and the ability to nurture profitable relationships with clients.
• Leadership capability to motivate and drive success within a management structure.
• Experience working collaboratively in a high‑pressure team environment.
• Excellent IT skills, full driving licence, and willingness to travel to meetings.
