Responsible for covering the North East and North Yorkshire geographical area, there will be some travel required to local sites. The successful candidate must possess demonstrable working experience and technical expertise as an HV SAP (LV to HV / EHV) from within the power, utilities and / or critical national electrical infrastructure sectors.
Our Client
Our client is responsible for the construction, maintenance, upkeep, renewal, refurbishment and repair of electricity transmission and distribution networks, assets and systems. This includes sub-stations, overhead lines, underground cables, and all associated equipment such as switchgear and transformers.
Overview
Our client now wishes to appoint a highly motivated and industry experienced HV SAP. Reporting to the management team, the main purpose of this role will be the responsibility of supporting the operational delivery of HV and LV projects. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring all electricity networks are installed in a safe and professional manner and to a high standard in line with industry regulations and the companys safe working practises.
The Role
- Working alongside teams of site personnel on HV & LV networks, systems and assets
- Assist in the testing and commissioning of HV / LV distribution systems
- Plan and co-ordinate projects
- Produce reports for works undertaken and manage project budgets to ensure team efficiency, and safe and timely delivery to company expectations and standards
- Responsible for switching, SFT, PTW and other works on multiple sites
- Managing stakeholder relationships in a professional and courteous manner
The Person
- Assessing potentially hazardous and dangerous situations, and taking appropriate action to ensure the safety of personnel, other site operatives and the public
- Undertaking site specific risk assessments and creating RAMS, and competent in issuing and cancelling safety documents
- Ensuring personnel and the wider team understand their duties under safety documents
- Carrying out network operations under instruction from Control Engineers
- Understanding the local network anomalies and ensuring correct phase rotation
- Currently hold (or have very recently held) DNO or private network SAP authorisation
- Possess a full UK driving licence holder and the willingness to travel
- Competent IT user of industry related software across multiple platforms such as smart phones, tablets and laptops
- Possess a minimum of an HNC in a related field (electrical or electronical engineering etc)
